100th Post!!!!!

Yay!!! My 100th post!!! Too bad I don't have any pictures to share. :(

There's not much new going on here. We've been going to school carnivals, soccer practice, soccer games. I've been trying to keep busy with my spa business. Steve was able to stay home with us last Thursday, Friday and today. It's been nice having him around! I guess that's about it, I hope everyone is well!

Oh and Steve got laid off on Thursday, which is why he's been home with us. We're a little stressed, but are confident that things will work out!

What a week!

Last week was a crazy week and I am so happy that it's over! Here's a breakdown of how our week went:

Monday: Around 11:30 I get a call from Vanesa at school. Since I couldn't really hear or understand what she was trying to tell me I drive up to the school and the nurse tells me that Vanesa threw up in class. Vanesa and I head home. Around 1:45 I get a call from Steve saying he needs a huge favor (not a good sign). His starter went out in the QT parking lot across from Love Field. He needs me to come pick him up and take him to an auto parts store and take him back to his car. Vanesa and I load up, drive out there, pick Steve up, drive to auto store, drive back to QT and wait to make sure the car is actually fixed.

Tuesday: After school, Zackary starts complaining of his knees hurting. He starts to feel kinda yucky and has a low grade fever around 6:00 ish p.m. Around 3:00 a.m. Zackary comes into my room with a temp of 104.2. Not good.

Wednesday: Zackary obviously doesn't go to school today. His knees are still hurting and his fever keeps going up and down. It is up to 104.9 around 1:30 in the afternoon so we head to the doctor's office. I was going to go to the e.r. because I was really freaking out by this time, but the dr.'s office said to bring him there. At the dr.'s office they stick a really long q-tip up both of his nostrils and Zackary really, really doesn't like this. It immediately came back positive, he had the flu. The doc gave us scripts for Zack to feel better and for me to prevent it, since I didn't get a flu shot. What about Vanesa though? Nothing, I guess we'll just have to pray she doesn't get it.

Still Wednesday: Around 6:30 ish p.m. or so I get a call from Steve asking me for a huge favor (this really can't be good). He needs me to look for the insurance card for the truck that he just bought less than 2 weeks ago. He needs the vin # off of it for some reason. I can't find it he said he figures, it's probably in the truck. OH and by the way, his truck was stolen today. What?!?! Did I hear that right? Yep, someone stole his truck from the parking lot while he was at work. 9:00 p.m. Wed. night, poor, sweet, sick Zack and I load up to go get gas and go pick up Steve from work. 10:00 we arrive at above mentioned work and still no sign of truck. Stupid Dallas thieves!

Thursday: Zack is still sick, but no one else is. STill no word on truck.

Friday: Zack is still sick, still just him. No truck in sight.

Saturday: Zack is feeling better, still sick though, no one else is. 6:30 p.m. go out to dinner at El Fenix. While waiting for dinner, I start to feel like someone just ran over me with their car. Ugh, not good. Eat, go home, take some nyquil and go to bed.

Sunday: Wake up feeling like death warmed over. Stay in bed all day and complain about being sick. Hear Zack running around and playing, he must be feeling much better!

Monday: 6:45 a.m. alarm goes off. Still feel like death, but must take kids to school. By the time I get up, Vanesa is already up and getting ready. Zack is still passed out. He won't wake up. Feels a little warm. He finally wakes up and starts coughing all over the place. I decide he should stay home one more day. Take Vanesa to school then go back home and go to bed until noonish. Lay around another hour or so. Get up and take a shower. Then take Zack to get some lunch and pick Vanesa up from school. Still feel like crap. By 5:00 ish I'm starting to feel better, just really weak and tired. At least my throat doesn't hurt as bad though! 7:00 p.m. I realize no one else is going to get up and cook dinner so I better do it, especially since Vanesa has a very important test tomorrow (Stupid state of Texas TAKS writing test). Show the kids how to cook tuna helper. They think it's fun and even fight over who gets to do what. Why didn't I think of this sooner? 9:00 p.m. everyone has been bathed and is in bed sleeping (hopefully). 9:15 p.m Zackary is not sleeping, says his bed isn't comfortable can he sleep in the living room? Umm no, just go to bed. 9:20 Zackary wants to know if he can pleeeeeeeeeeaaasssee sleep in the living room? His bed is realllllllllllyyyyy uncomfortable. No. 9:30 Zackary really can't sleep, can he just sleep in the living room? No, just get in my bed. 9:31 Zackary is snoring his head off. Crazy kid!

Let's hope this week is much better! If you have a minute tomorrow (Tuesday) say a quick prayer for Vanesa. She will be testing all day long on TAKS writing test. She must pass this to move on to the fifth grade. We all know she will, but I still get nervous for her! Also this was my 99th post! I can't believe it! Maybe I can actually get some pictures for my 100th post! Any help with that Court????

Happy 7th birthday Zack!

Ok so this is a couple of days late, but I still have to wish a very Happy Birthday to my sweet baby boy Zackary! I can't believe it's been 7 years since he's been born. He's gone from a chubby, roly poly baby, to a skinny, very active, friendly, and mostly sweet little boy. I was telling Steve last night that since the kids have started school time really seems to be going faster. I just can't believe my baby is 7 years old and halfway done with first grade. It just amazes me! Things that Zackary loves right now are running, jumping, playing soccer, legos, bakugan, transformers, hotwheels, playing games on the wii, sleeping in when he's supposed to be getting ready for school, watching his fave shows on the disney channel, going on lego.com to make a wishlist of all his favorite sets, bugging his sister and the dogs, etc.

Yesterday we had Zack's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese and that place was more crowded than I have ever seen it! I think Zack had a lot of fun and several of his friends were able to come to the party so it turned out really good. He got a lot of cool presents and now his room is a mess again. I'm pretty sure that's how he likes to keep it though! As soon as I can get the pics from Court, I'll try to post them on here!

BeautiControl

Yesterday I got to go to the BeautiControl Manufacturing/Distribution/Research Institute warehouse. It was so cool! We got to see how they make the products and how they fill the containers. We even got to see how they fill the orders that we place! They have a research lab where they develop new products, but apparently it is top secret so we weren't allowed to look in there. They also have a micro lab to check everything for bacteria and stuff. I was really just in awe the whole time because it was so cool! The whole time I was there I kept thinking that Steve should get a job there because it was just so cool! I even asked if he could get a job there, but since I'm a consultant he can't. :(

I think it's awesome that BeautiControl manufactures their own products. Most cosmetic/skincare companies do not do this. They pay someone else to make it for them so they really don't know what's going into their products. I am so excited about my future with BeautiControl and can't wait to start doing more spas!

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! Ours was wonderful we all ate way too much food and of course the kids got more presents than they know what to do with! We are very blessed. Right now the kids are playing wii tennis and having a lot of fun! I'll post some Christmas pictures as soon as I can!

Not much to say

I really don't have anything new to report. It's cold here, like really cold, like my car was covered in ice this morning cold. I don't really like the cold that much. Actually I just don't like being cold myself.

Zackary got his teeth fixed yesterday. They look really good now and hopefully I can get my act together and take a picture of his new smile to post on here.

I'm the Homeroom Mom for Zack's class. Being a Homeroom Mom is a stressful job. I assigned an item for each child to bring to the Holiday Party and also requested each child to bring a book for the book exchange. Out of 20 kids only half of them have brought the food item requested and 12 have sent books. The party is on Thursday so if I don't get more books in by then I'm going to have to go buy the rest myself. I just hope the party turns out well for the kids.

Other than that nothing new is going on, we're just all ready for Christmas. Steve is on vacation this week and next week, so we are really enjoying have him home with us during the day and evening. Right now he's helping Vanesa with her geometry homework. Geometry was probably one of my worst subjects in school so I'm glad he's here to help her.

If anyone still reads this there's a quick update for ya!

I know these are late, but here are a few pics from Halloween.

Naomi (neighbor friend), Vanesa, and Zack on Nana's balcony.

Zack as some sort of Star Wars character.

Vanesa as a sweetheart bat.
